Emerald Coast Band charms Destin Snowbirds

Destin Snowbirds
Emerald Coast Band performs at recent Destin Snowbird gathering.

Destin Snowbirds were laid back and relaxedat their second meeting after listening to the music of the Emerald Coast Band.

Each Destin Snowbird meeting is different, and that difference was on display as Christmas music wrapped around the audience and put them in the holiday spirit. Many of those in attendance remarked how fortunate we are to have this band in the Destin area.

Adding to the excitement at each meeting, businesses and organizations who partner with the “birds” provide door prizes and information about their enterprises. Snowbirds sit anxiously to hear their names called. Prizes range in value from $15 to over $100 and include fishing trips, restaurant meals, makeup packages, dental supplies, coupons for seafood dinners, and an array of other goodies. Businesses and organizations can participate by contacting our prize committee at destinprizecommittee@yahoo.com.

Linda Zukonik, Registration Director, said registrations for membership to date are about the same as last year. One of the board members said they expect more than 1,500 snowbirds to join by mid-February.

Visitors to Destin can visit our website to register online or find dates for face-to-face registration at www.thedestinsnowbirds.com.

The big registration for the Destin Snowbirds is Jan. 2, 2024, at the Community Center on Stahlman Avenue from 1-3 p.m. The next meeting of the Destin Snowbirds is on January 9.
