Dog-Harmony sets three events for 2024 at Grand Boulevard

The Destin Log

Dog-Harmony will host three events in the upcoming months where hundreds of dogs and their less furry friends will trample upon Grand Bouevard’s Grand Park to attend these signature, tail-wagging fundraising events in 2024.  These events include multiple photo opportunities with your pet, treats for pups and their owners alike, music and much more.

Dog-Harmony’s event lineup this year at Grand Boulevard Sandestin’s Grand Park include Grand Canine Carnaval on Feb. 8, 3:30-5:30 p.m.; Doggie EGGstravaganza on March 29, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; and Barktoberfest on Oct. 25 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Doggie EGGstravaganza, in its ninth year, will take place on March 29.

The inaugural Grand Canine Carnaval is a Brazilian Carnaval Doggie Social on Feb. 8, which will feature a carnaval-themed doggie dance party and contest, photos of your pups, music, treats for both dogs and owners and a chance to win fabulous prizes.

Doggie EGGstravaganza, in its ninth year, will take place on March 29. This is a canine-only Easter-egg hunt and doggie social.  Owners and pups will get to hunt for prizes and treats hidden in colorful eggs, scattered on the Grand Lawn.

Barktoberfest on Oct. 25 is a canine-only trick or treating event with a costume contest for humans and their furry companions. Oktoberfest libations and snacks, plus music, photo opportunities and amazing raffle round out this 9th annual event.

These events are free and open to the public and are presented as part of the Coastal Culture Series made possible by the Grand Boulevard Arts & Entertainment Program. However, an entry fee is requested to participate in the contests and the egg-hunt. All proceeds from Dog-Harmony at Grand Boulevard events will help support the pups and programs in our community. Dog Harmony’s services include Animal Assisted Therapy, Children’s Education and Community Education and Shelter Support.  Last year, the dog therapy program touched the lives of over 200 people in local hospitals each week. They also provided over 240 hours of education and training to local shelters and families who were at risk of owner surrender situations. To learn more about these services, visit dog-harmony.org.

This year's Barktoberfest is Oct. 25 at Grand Boulevard.

“Dog-Harmony is excited about the partnership with Grand Boulevard. The doggie socials give parents a safe and fun place to socialize their dogs," said Nancy Brown, Dog Harmony Founder and Director.

“For many years, Grand Boulevard has cherished our partnership with Dog-Harmony. We love the creativity they bring to their events and they make them so much for everyone. Importantly, we believe in the Dog-Harmony mission and appreciate the opportunity to support it,” said Stacey Brady, Marketing and Communications Director for Grand Boulevard.
