Week Two: The Rejects prevail in coed softball

Coed Softball League

Joseph Feltner connected for five hits to lead The Rejects in a 27-15 win over My Destin Beach Vacation in Destin’s Coed Softball League at Morgan Sports Center. 

Feltner ripped a triple, two doubles and two singles for two RBIs. 

The Rejects jumped out to a 12-7 lead in the first two innings. In the third, they picked up five runs and then scored the 10-run limit in the fourth for a 27-11 advantage. 

My Destin Beach scored four last runs in the top of the fifth before a run-rule was called on the game.

Rob Carrizoles tripled, doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs for The Rejects. Chelsie McCall hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs. 

Josh Raya led My Destin Beach with four singles for two RBIs. Travis Carroll tripled and hit two singles for four RBIs, and Lindsay Carroll doubled and singled. 

In other coed action: 

Soundside Motor 23, Fudpuckers 4

Soundside started strong scoring the 10-run limit in the top of the first inning. Soundside went on to score four in the second, three in the third and six in the fourth. 

Fudpuckers scored two runs in the first and fifth innings. 

Brian Chelbowski and Josh Barnes each clobbered a home run, double and a single for four RBIs for Soundside. Jorge Guerrero hit two inside-the-park homers and a double for five RBIs. 

Austin Marple connected for a double for an RBI for Fuds, while Caleb Love hit two singles for an RBI. Kayla Faulkner connected for a single. 

Reissue 30, Kekambas 16

At the end of three innings, the game was deadlocked at 10-10. 

In the top of the fourth, Reissue pulled away scoring the 10-run limit. Kekambas could only muster three runs in the bottom half. 

Reissue had another big inning in the fifth, with another 10 runs for the win.

Ruben Priesto led Reissue with a homer, two triples and two doubles for five RBIs. Rico Campbell blasted out two homers, a double and a single for five RBIs, and Kristen Myers doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs. 

Steven Matuzek was tops for Kekambas with a triple, double and two singles for five RBIs. Danny Sullivan ripped a double and two singles for an RBI, and Summer Sullivan hit three singles. 

Green Air 10, Pitch Please 8

After three innings of play, Pitch Please led 6-5. 

In the top of the fourth, Green Air edged ahead with three runs for an 8-5 advantage. 

Pitch Please picked up one run in the bottom of the fifth inning. 

With the 75-minute time limit running out, Green Air scored two and Pitch Please, one run in the sixth inning. 

Anthony Bartolo led Green Air with a homer, triple and two singles for four RBIs. Catie Moser tripled, hit two doubles and a single for an RBI, and Josh Shankland connected for three singles. 

Rae Richardson hit four singles for Pitch Please for an RBI. Eli Fox doubled and hit two singles for an RBI, and Tony Barnett hit three singles for two RBIs.
