My Destin Beach Vacation hangs on for win over Kekambas in Destin's Coed Softball League

Matt Wright knocked in three runs to lead My Destin Beach Vacation in a 19-15 win over Kekambas in the city of Destin’s Coed Softball League at Morgan Sports Center. 

Wright slapped a home run, triple and a single for the three RBIs. 

My Destin Beach started strong in the first inning with nine runs and then added another seven in the second for a 16-6 lead.

In the top of the third, Kekambas scored one run and then exploded in the fourth with seven to close the gap.  

My Destin Beach answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth for an 18-14 advantage. 

Beth Blyden and Michelle Corrigan almost collide trying to make the catch for My Destin Beach Vacation. Corrigan made the catch for an out in the 19-15 victory over Kekambas.

Kekambas finished with one in the fifth and My Destin Beach added one more in the bottom of the sixth. 

Travis Carroll hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs for My Destin Beach. Austin Eads tripled, doubled and singled for an RBI and Lindsay Carroll hit two singles for an RBI. 

Steve Kertz hit two homers and a triple for three RBIs for Kekambas. Sara Logsdon connected for three singles and Brandon Babb ripped two triples and a double for two RBIs.

In other softball action: 

The Rejects 24, Fudpuckers 3

The Rejects dominated taking a 13-0 lead in the first two innings. The Rejects added one in the third and then rallied the bats for 10 runs in the fourth.

Fudpuckers scored its three runs in the bottom of the fourth. 

Brandon Babb pitches one in for Kekambas. Babb had two triples and a double for two RBIs in the game. Kekambas lost 19-15 to My Destin Beach Vacation.

Rob Carrizales was the big stick for The Rejects with two triples and a double for six RBIs. Kalina Matos hit three singles for an RBI and Jenna Feltner doubled and singled for three RBIs. 

Hitting two singles each for Fudpuckers were Kayla Faulkner, Caleb Love and Austin Marple. Destinee Degroat tripled for three RBIs. 

Reissue 17, Green Air 14

Reissue took an early 5-2 lead in the first inning. By the end of three, the game was knotted at 7-7. 

Green Air edged ahead in the bottom of the fourth with two runs. However, Reissue tied it up in the top of the fifth with two runs, 9-9. Green Air got the advantage back in the bottom of the fifth with three runs. Green Air added two more in the sixth for a 14-9 lead.

In the top of the seventh, Reissue put the bat on the ball and brought in eight runs to regain the lead 17-14. Green Air was scoreless in the bottom half. 

Top batters for Reissue were Jason Little with a homer and two doubles for six RBIs, Kristen Myers with two doubles and a single for two RBIs, Rico Campbell with three doubles and an RBI, and Ruben Prieto with a homer, double and a single for two RBIs. 

Chance Harbour was the top batter for Green Air with a homer, triple and two singles for five RBIs. Kayla Haberstick and Chandler Clements each hit two singles. 

Soundside Watersports 22, Pitch Please 16

After three innings, Soundside was on top 15-5. 

In the fourth, Soundside scored one run before Pitch Please answered with the 10-run limit for a 16-15 game. 

In the fifth inning, Soundside put six runs on the board and held Pitch Please to one for the win. 

Paul Belletty of My Destin Beach Vacation rounds third base and heads for home. Belletty doubled and singled in the 19-15 win over Kekambas in coed softball.

Josh Barnes led Soundside with two homers and two singles for four RBIs. Davy Bazylak slapped a home run, double and a single for four RBIs, and Tabitha Taylor hit two doubles for two RBIs. Jorge Rameriz belted an in-the-park home run. 

Tony Barnett hit three doubles for three RBIs for Pitch Please. Eden Yanez tripled, doubled, and singled for two RBIs, and Myah Kallioineu doubled and singled for two RBIs.
