Week 4 roundup: Reissue posts big win in Destin coed softball league

Reissue’s Ruben Prieto checked all the boxes in a 24-5 victory over Pitch Please in the city of Destin Coed Softball League at Morgan Sports Center. 

Prieto blasted a home run, a triple, double and a single for five RBIs.

Reissue had a slow start with one run in the first and two in the second. In the third inning, Reissue blew the game open scoring the 10-run limit.  

In the top of the fourth, Reissue picked up four more runs for a 17-0 lead. 

Week 3:My Destin Beach Vacation hangs on for win over Kekambas in Destin's Coed Softball League

Pitch Please finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with five runs. 

Reissue scored seven more in the top of the fifth and then held Pitch Please scoreless for a 12-run ruling on the game. 

Kristen Meyers hit three singles for Reissue while Kurt Haynes doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs. JD White slapped one out of the park and Chandler Ski hit an inside-the-park home run. 

Adrienne Vaughn of Reissue mans first base as Rae Richardson of Pitch Please is safe after getting a hit. Reissue won the coed softball game 24-5.

Connecting for one hit each for Pitch Please were Eden Yanez, Tony Barnett and Sami Unterseth. 

In other softball action: 

Green Air 22, My Destin Beach Vacation 3

At the end of four innings, Green Air was up 5-2.  

In the top of the fifth, Green Air added six runs and then My Destin Beach picked up one run in the bottom of the sixth. 

Green Air finished strong in the final inning with 11 runs.

Big hitters for Green Air were Chance Harbour with two triples, a double and a single for two RBIs; Anthony Bartolo, two doubles and two singles for two RBIs; and Rebecca Shotliff, three singles. 

Brandon Blyden led My Destin Beach with a double and two singles. Craig Frank and Paul Belletty each hit two singles. 

Chelsie McCall tosses one in for The Rejects. McCall connected for a double and two singles in The Rejects 23-15 win over Soundside Watersports.

In the first two innings, The Rejects took a 7-4 lead.  

In the top of the third, The Rejects exploded for nine runs. However, Soundside answered with seven in the bottom half for a 16-11 game.

The Rejects picked up four in the fourth and one in the fifth to pull away 21-11. Soundside scored two in the bottom of the fifth. 

With time running out on the game, both teams scored two runs each in the last inning. 

Joseph Feltner clobbered an in-the-park homer and two singles for an RBI for The Rejects. Chelsie McCall doubled and hit two singles for an RBI, and Rob Carrizales tripled and hit two singles for five RBIs. 

Brandon Smith hit an in-the-park homer and two doubles for two RBIs for Soundside. Dave Bazylak hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs, Tabitha Taylor hit a double and a single for two RBIs, and Jorge Ramirez doubled and hit two singles for an RBI. Josh Barnes smacked a three-run homer.

Kekambas 23, Fudpuckers 11

Kekambas started and finished strong to pull off the win. Kekambas scored 10 runs in the second and then put together seven runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. The other lone run came in the fourth. 

Fudpuckers scored five in the first, five in the fifth and one in the sixth. 

Danny Sullivan led Kekambas with two triples, a double and a single for four RBIs. Summer Sullivan hit two triples and a single for four RBIs, and Steve Kertz connected for an in-the-park home run and two singles for three RBIs. 

Lauren Tillman hit three singles for three RBIs for Fudpuckers. Caleb Love hit three singles for two RBIs, and John Faulkner hit two singles.
