Week 5: Green Air blows by Fudpuckers in coed softball

Rebecca Shotliff connected for four hits to lead Green Air in a 25-2 blowout over Fudpuckers in the city of Destin’s Coed Softball League at Morgan Sports Center. 

Shotliff doubled and hit three singles for four RBIs in the five-inning victory. 

Green Air scored seven in the first inning. 

Anthony Bartolo of Green Air ripped a triple and two doubles in the 25-2 win over Fudpuckers.

Fudpuckers put two runs on the board in the top of the second inning. Green Air answered with five more runs. 

In the third, Green Air scored six runs and then seven more in the fourth for the win. 

Anthony Bartolo tripled and hit two doubles for Green Air while Michael Skipper hit three doubles for two RBIs. Kayla Haberstitch belted an inside-the-park homer and two singles for three RBIs and Catie Moser knocked an inside-the-park homer. 

Trevor Violette pitches one in for Green Air in coed softball action against Fudpuckers. Green Air won 25-2.

Austin Marple had two singles for Fud’s while Trey Tisdale and Kayla Faulkner each connected for one hit. 

In other softball action: 

Reissue 17, Soundside Watersports 12

Soundside drew first blood with three runs in the first inning. 

In the top of the second, Reissue exploded for the 10-run limit, then picked up four more in the third for a 14-3 lead. Soundside scored one in the bottom of the third.

Reissue went on to score two in the fourth and one in the sixth, while Soundside scored four in the fifth and four in the seventh. 

Zach Lanphear led Reissue with three singles. Amber DeStaven and Kurt Haynes each hit two singles for an RBI. 

Tabitha Taylor connected for three singles for Soundside for an RBI. Rolando Walters doubled and hit two singles for an RBI, and Josh Barnes slapped three doubles for two RBIs. 

Amber DeStaven hit two singles for Reissue in their 17-12 victory over Soundside Watersports.

My Destin Beach Vacation 25, Pitch Please 19

My Destin Beach started strong scoring the 10-run limit in the first and second innings. 

Pitch Please scored six runs in the first and then four in the second and third innings. My Destin Beach led 20-14 at the end of three. 

Both teams scored two in the fourth and then three in the fifth inning as time expired on the game. Each game has a 75-minute time limit. 

Kurt Haynes of Reissue connected for two singles in the 17-12 win over Soundside Watersports.

Travis Carroll was the big stick for My Destin Beach with a triple, double and three singles for seven RBIs. Michelle Corrigan hit four singles for an RBI, Paul Belletty hit four singles for two RBIs, and Brandon Blyden pounded out a two-run inside-the-park homer. 

Tony Barnett knocked two out of the park, a double and a singel for four RBIs for Pitch Please. Gabe Acosta hit two inside-the-park homers, a double and a single for six RBIs. Myah Kallioinen connected for two singles. 

The Rejects 20, Kekambas 8

Down 6-3 after two innings, The Rejects rallied in the third inning scoring eight runs for the lead. 

The Rejects added four more runs in the fourth and five in the fifth. Kekambas scored one in the fourth inning and one in the fifth. 

Joseph Feltner led The Rejects with an inside-the-park homer, triple and two singles for four RBIs. Kalina Matos hit two singles for two RBIs, while Rob Carrizales tripled, doubled, and singled.

Jake Rosario led Kekambas with a triple, double and a single. Summer Sullivan hit a double and a single for an RBI, and Danny Sullivan hit two singles for an RBI. Steve Kertz belted an inside-the-park homer.
